This work has been created on the occasion of BigArt 2023 in the Bajeskwartier in Amsterdam. It is inspired by Ernst10 Haeckel: Kunstformen der Natur, Tafel 29: Tetracoralla. Vierstrahlige Sternkorallen.

Tetracoralla or horn coral is an extinct order of solitary and colonial corals that were abundant in Middle Ordovician to Late Permian seas (470 – 298 million years ago). These four-jetted star corals became completely extinct and got replaced by the six-jetted variant. The basic form of the Tetracoralla has been the starting point for the design of this work.
